Hunger can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime – it’s not just the homeless who are food-deprived! Food is a basic human right, but many families/individuals in the CRD cannot afford to put fresh, wholesome food on their table, especially during the winter months when food is scarce and expensive! Through Living Edge’s ten weekly Neighbourhood Markets, free bags of fresh vegetables and high-protein foods are given to over 5,000 people every month. Over one million dollars-worth of food is recaptured by Living Edge from stores, distributors, farmers and Victoria Food Share to help seniors, persons with disabilities, single parents and low income families gain food equality. “I live on a small government pension and hardly have enough money for groceries. I am so thankful for the support from LIVING EDGE and the fresh food the weekly market provides” Senior
Your generous support in the past has contributed greatly to the welfare and health of so many vulnerable families and individuals. Thank you!
